Healthy eating is now much more popular than before and rightfully so. Poor diet is a leading factor in illnesses such as heart disease and high blood pressure which can put a drain on the economy. Although we’re constantly being counseled to stick with healthy eating habits, it is also easier than ever to depend on fast food and other convenience items that are not healthy for us. It is likely that lots of people feel it will take lots of effort to eat a healthy diet or that they have to make a large scale change to how they live. It is possible, though, to make some small changes that can start to make a good impact on our daily eating habits.
The first change you need to make is to pay more attention to what you buy when you shop for food since it is likely that you have the tendency to pick up many of the things without thinking. For example, in all likelihood you have never checked the box of your favorite cereal to see its sugar content. One healthy substitute that can give you a great start to your day is oatmeal. If this is not to your liking on its own, you can easily mix in fresh fruits that can supply you with other healthy nutrients and as such, one modest change to your diet has been achieved.
Evidently, it’s easy to start integrating healthy eating into your life.

These little beauties are also known as "Rumaki" but I prefer to call them Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts since that's what I've always called them. Rumaki can also have a little duck or chicken liver wrapped up in it, too, but since these don't have any, I didn't want to confuse the issue by using a name that technically may not apply. I like to cut them in half if they are large and remove anything that doesn't look just pure protein/meat. They're traditionally made with chicken livers also but my children wouldn't touch those! haha) However, Still a Deviously Tasty Treat! #mycookbook #rumaki Lee-Ann Babin.
